The ways in which we define and engage with digital city systems is changing. This no longer lies exclusively in the hands of architects, designers, engineers, computer scientists and urban planners: open-source tools and open-data platforms are opening up collaborative opportunities for citizen participation. This panel session, brings together community groups, academics and digital practitioners into dialogue with the joint aims of understanding the challenges of engaging in this new paradigm and with this knowledge, identify new collaborative mechanisms for citizen-led digital city making.
Speakers include Lucy Bullivant (architecture critic and curator), Ava Fatah gen. Schieck (The Bartlett School of Architecture), Nicolas Fonty (JustMap), Andrew Collinge (GLA) and Adam Dennett (Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis).
POWER TO THE CITIZEN! is a UCL collaboration between the Engineering Exchange, UCL Institute for Digital Innovation in the Built Environment, UCL Urban Laboratory and CASA.
