UCL-UCU: Climate Action Meeting - Details
16 January 2023
We are forwarding details of an upcoming meeting on Climate Action organised at UCL
The meeting is not a UCU meeting, but UCU nationally and the UCL UCU branch have policy committing us to taking action on Climate Change.
Meeting to discuss Climate Action at UCL
One of the main goals for the creation of the UCL Climate Activist Network is to enable the climate-conscious staff and students of UCL to connect with one another to better build and support campaigns for climate action inside and outside of UCL. In the spirit of this, there is a meeting on Tuesday 17th January between the UCL student-led Climate Action Society (CAS), UCL Staff Climate Activist Network (SCAN) and the local environmental group XR Camden to discuss goals for the upcoming year and see where there can be mutual support and alignment of efforts.
Meeting Details
- Tuesday 17th January, 2:00pm - 3:00pm
- IOE - Bedford Way (20) - Room 803
Looking back on 2022 we saw record breaking heat waves, unprecedented weather events and yet another COP that didn't provide the radical change needed to save our future. 2023 can only be a year of action if we take action ourselves - and take it together. That is why the organisers are committed to building the UCL Climate Activist Network and building bridges with climate groups throughout UCL, London, and the UK more widely, to increase climate activists’ strength.
If you're interested in finding out more, please consider joining next Tuesday. If you cannot make the meeting but are interested in finding out more, you can do so via this link.
