Strike for USS - confirmation of strike dates and FAQs

We can now confirm that the UCU has notified UCL of the following dates when members will be taking strike action (fourteen days in total): Week 1: Thu and Fri 22 - 23 Feb Week 2: Mon - Weds 26 - 28 Feb Week 3: Mon - Thurs 5 - 8 Mar Week 4: Mon - Fri 12 - 16 Mar Strike action means not doing any work at all for the whole of the days specified by the union.
Action Short Of a Strike (ASOS) begins on the first day of strike action. In this dispute ASOS means the following:
- working to contract;
- not covering for absent colleagues;
- not rescheduling lectures or classes cancelled due to strike action;
- not undertaking any voluntary activities.
Working to contract means abiding strictly by the terms of your contract of employment such as where they or other formal documents relating to your employment specify your hours of work; breaks; workload; or other matters.

We strongly encourage members to attend picket lines to support each other and provide a visible presence, more details to follow including departmental and central meetings to help organise action.
