Dr Victoria Austin alongside Professor Lauren Andres (The Bartlett School of Planning) will serve as joint Pro-Vice-Provosts, guiding the university’s efforts to address the complex, multifaceted nature of inequality through research, education, and institutional change. The Grand Challenges of Inequalities is the fourth in a series of newly introduced themes under UCL’s flagship Grand Challenges programme, which encourages interdisciplinary approaches to pressing global issues. Builiding on the succes of the Grand Challenge for Justice and Equality, there is a five year programme of activities planned, with the aim to create impactful partnerships and build integrated responses to societal challenges.
