He says “Protecting the credibility of the scientific record demands transparent disclosure, clear guidelines, accountability for both researchers and reviewers, and continuous evaluation of the guidelines to reflect new AI capabilities, risks and best practices. Otherwise, the integration of AI risks reducing scientific publishing to a matter of untrustworthy automated processing, rather than a careful, human-centred pursuit of knowledge.”
