- Getting to the right bit of UCL.
Don’t go to the main entrance on Gower Street as it will take you into a maze. Please get yourself to the junction of Malet St (north end) and Torrington Place. You should see some black very tall (4-5 metres) railings. It’s a busy entrance. The google maps link is this: https://maps.app.goo.gl/i/G9_M9
- Getting to the Darwin Building.
Proceed through the metal gates and after a few buildings there is a sort of wide alleyway on the left called Darwin Walk (there is a sign). As well as the street sign, there is also a sign saying Darwin Building. Turn left and go to the end where there are some steps or a (long) u-shaped ramp to the left. Go into the building where there is a reception station to your right. I will have told them we are expecting people; you may have to sign in. I and/or a helper will be there going back and forth between the room and the entrance.
- Getting to B05.
Anyone avoiding stairs: there are two options for lifts. The first is the pair of lifts to the immediate left at reception. If you walk with difficulty these are the better option (shorter distance). If you use a wheelchair, there is a wider left behind those lifts, through a door. This larger lift does not need a UCL ID to operate but the smaller pair apparently do. As I said, I will shuttle up and down as start time approaches so if there is any issue I should turn up fairly soon to help.
There are stairs immediately behind reception straight ahead.
Proceed down one floor to the basement. From the stairs, continue forwards and left, through the door on the left, then past the door immediately to your left (B15). B05 is the next door on the left. From the lifts, go straight ahead to what is for you the far right corner, through the door and then the second door to your left.
