Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the surrounding area
Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is a vibrant part of east London with many cafes, restaurants and leisure time activities to suit all tastes and budgets. The Park hosts events all year round, and UCL East is also part of East Bank, London’s newest culture, innovation and entertainment quarter.
The London Aquatics Centre next door to the campus has a 50m swimming pool and a gym plus classes and activities. Other sports facilities on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park include Lee Valley VeloPark and the Lee Valley Hockey & Tennis Centre. The Park is also an excellent place to go for a run or a cycle ride. Students based at UCL East can also use the sports facilities on our Bloomsbury campus.
Our UCL East campus is next to Westfield Stratford City with its wide selection of shops, eateries and entertainment venues, and there are more shops, restaurants and other facilities in Stratford itself, including Stratford Shopping Centre and the Theatre Royal Stratford East. On the other side of the park is Hackney Wick, another area with a broad selection of cafes, bars, and restaurant options.
