The Bartlett at UCL East

At UCL East, The Bartlett nurtures new generations of leaders and professionals to develop fresh approaches, skills and training in order to address the major challenges the planet faces.

Welcome to The Bartlett at UCL East

Rooted in East London, The Bartlett at UCL East looks to global horizons.

Within the dynamic environment of the new UCL East campus our activities are dedicated to finding cross-sector solutions to transdisciplinary built environment challenges: from reducing inequality, to building sustainable cities, to bringing about racial, social and climate justice.

To address these challenges, new bespoke programmes have been developed in partnership with local, industry and government partners. In line with The Bartlett’s history and ethos, learning and research at UCL East will be practice-led and hands-on. State-of-the-art facilities are complemented by living labs, live projects, community co-design, and citizen science.

Research and study at UCL East are closely tied to the local creative, community and environmental ecologies. East London itself is a key context for collaboration and insight into key urban questions.
