UCL East welcomes potential students at our Undergraduate Open Afternoon
30 October 2025
UCL East opened its doors to over 400 would-be students and their parents this week for our annual undergraduate open afternoon.
The event gave potential students the opportunity to learn about the full swathe of undergraduate degree programs on offer and to get a glimpse at some of our world-class spaces.
Events kicked off in the early afternoon with students eagerly lining up in the atrium under the branches of the Treow of Life. Many were looking up, agog at the scale of the atrium and the gorgeous Gaia globe that hangs above.
They then split off into three separate welcome talks where they heard from student union staff and the Vice-Provost (Strategy), Professor Paola Lettieri, about life here at UCL East.
This was followed by subject sessions. It was a thrill to see so many of our gorgeous spaces filled with young people excited about the possibilities of our various degree programs. From robotics to the humanities, health to AI, there really are so many options for those thinking about a degree here at UCL East.
Tours of the campus ran throughout the afternoon, with our specialist labs and dedicated teaching spaces impressing punters and parents alike.
The faculty fair was a particular hit. The fourth floor was littered with stalls where prospective students could talk directly with subject specialists.
All in all, it was a fabulous day, with numbers exceeding expectations, demonstrating UCL East’s growing appeal as it continues to cement its reputation as a hub of interdisciplinary innovation and academic excellence on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
