East Bank Partners Launch Brand-New Residency Programme for East London Creatives

We are excited to announce the official launch of SEEDED - a new funded residency programme for east London creative practitioners, small-scale creative organisations and collectives.   

East Bank's London College of Fashion, UAL and UCL East are kicking off the programme by offering two applicants the opportunity to explore ideas, experiment and develop new practices, while pushing conventional boundaries of engaged, creative research. Running from Spring 2023, the selected residents will receive £5000 funding, access to networks and researchers as well as workspace and facilitated support throughout the programme. 

The Urban Room and Memory Workshop will be the first location at UCL East to host a resident. Operated as a partnership between UCL Urban Laboratory, The Bartlett, School for the Creative and Cultural Industries and UCL Library Services: Special Collections, the public-facing Urban Room will host events, exhibitions, workshops and engagement with local stakeholders, professional audiences, and the wider public, whilst the Memory Workshop will open up access to UCL’s public and oral history collections, forging dialogues between UCL urban researchers and local community partners. Together it will present an exciting resource on the past, present and future of cities that will enable innovative explorations of London’s history, and the site in east London, through both ideas and objects.

Practitioners keen to investigate themes around social practice, activism, collective memory, urbanisation and community engagement, through co-creation and partnership with one of the host organisations are invited to make their application by Monday 21 November 2022.
