We are delighted to announce the six final projects funded at stage two of the programme.

Trellis: Public Art is a programme of knowledge exchange between researchers and artists, part of the wider vision for UCL Public Art and Community Engagement to create opportunities for collaboration between artists, researchers and communities.

Trellis 3 kicked off in February 2021 when 80+ artists and researchers were brought together through a series of online matchmaking events. These events aimed to spark ideas and interest in working together. Following a competitive application process, twelve artist-researcher partnerships were then awarded funding of £2,000 to develop ideas for collaboration.

From these, six final projects have been awarded funding and will work together with community partners to produce artworks that will be exhibited in March 2022.

The partnerships are:

  • Tailor-Made - Kassandra Lauren Gordon and Ayse Akarca
  • Material Design Meets AI - Ella Bulley and Amy Widdicombe
  • Journeys through communication (working title) - Marysa Dowling and Catherine Perrodin and Liam Browne
  • Another Provision - Johann Arens and Hanna Baumann
  • Duncan Paterson (brother_Sjur) and Azadeh Shariati and Helge Wurdemann
  • Cyclical Intersections - Caroline Wright and Tim Adlam, Maryam Bandukda, Youngjun Cho and Ben Oldfrey

Trellis is co-funded by UCL Public Art and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
