21 May 2019

Cardinal Pole RC School, Hackney, have worked with UCL Culture's schools engagement team to create a film about animal motion and diversity in science.

Over the last six months, year 8 pupils from Cardinal Pole Catholic School, Hackney, have been working with staff and students at UCL to create a short film. The film is based on their experiences participating in object based learning sessions with UCL Culture's School's Engagement Team. The sessions, based on animal motion and bio robotics, saw students visit the Grant Museum of Zoology, have a tour of the campus and also undertake sessions back in their classrooms in Hackney, where participating schools are loaned a bioinspired robotics kit with technical support from UCL students.

The film, now finished, will be shared with peers in Kalimantan, Indonesia where the school and UC’s engagement team have been forming links through this project.

You can find out more about the schools engagement workshops on the UCL Culture website.
