River Me This

Join us for an outdoor workshop to channel the wishes of the River Lea. Through deep listening and creative activities, you’ll be invited to tune into the river’s presence and consider what it might ask for - its needs, limits, and possibilities. This session brings together multiple voices to explore river rights, ecology, and collective stewardship.

Taking time to connect, share knowledge, and attend to the river’s needs, we will work together to give voice to what the river wants, creating a collection of wishes in support of its rights and agency. These contributions will form part of the Manifold exhibition at UCL East.

  • FREE - Booking required
  • No experience is needed - just an interest in the river and its future, and a willingness to listen.
  • Please dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear, as we’ll be spending time by the water. Open to anyone with a connection to the river, in all its forms.
  • Refreshments provided.

Manifold

This event forms part of Manifold - an art project by Emma Smith with UCL Multi Lab and local communities. Manifold offers a programme of activities, embedded in Multi Lab research and local knowledge, to unlearn ecological autonomy and deepen understanding of our being part of local and global ecologies.
