UCL East Creative Arts Holiday Club: Plays and Performance

This May half term Year 9s and 10s who live and/or go to school in the London boroughs of Newham, Hackney, Tower Hamlets or Waltham Forest have the opportunity to attend our Creative Arts Holiday Club: Plays and Performance. 

This two day programme is free of charge and you'll be able to:

• Try out hands-on scene work and techniques used in theatres.
• Use your imagination, voice and your body to respond to words on the page.
• See how others have brought play texts to life on stage, film and digital media.
• Learn new ways to express ideas and emotions through words, sounds, and performance.

This will be a fun and rewarding two days for students of all levels, building your confidence and giving you the chance to think creatively, try out new skills and work with others. Sessions will run 10am - 4pm Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 May 2025. 

The sessions are led by tutors working on UCL’s degree programme in Creative Arts and Humanities, which brings together creative writing, moving image and performance to help students develop skills spanning storytelling to critical thinking.

You will also have the chance to explore the BA Media Degree Show, with work from final year BA Media students on display at UCL East.

Eligibility

Students in Year 9 or Year 10 who live and/or go to school in the London boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets or Waltham Forest. This opportunity is open to applicants from state schools only; places are limited and may be assigned using the shortlisting criteria found on our Who we work with page.
