“Acceptance of Difference (Here?)” documents the redevelopment ambitions of the Tate Institute, a social and creative hub in North Woolwich.
The central space at the Tate was simulated at UCL PEARL , a life-sized simulation laboratory that studies the senses. This allowed the environment to be configured and adapted in a way which centred the needs of neurodiverse people.
Following the film screening, there will be a Q&A with artists, researchers, and participants of the PEARL and Tate project, exploring disability justice in a neurotypical ableist society.
You’ll also be invited to turn medical diagnosis and the built environment on its head, by diagnosing the space around you.
