Join us to celebrate our latest exhibition H is for Hostile Environment, with a reception and welcome from the UCL East Cultural and Community Engagement team.

Featuring a film by Edwin Mingard and Keren Weitzberg, accompanied by a pamphlet by Geneva Virasami and artwork by Creating Ground.

The exhibition explores the hostile envionment policy, a collection of government policies which aimed to co-opt large parts of UK society into policing the UK’s borders – from doctors to landlords, employers, homeless services and more.

These artworks have been co-produced in close dialogue and collaboration with those who have first-hand experience of migration as well as those who are actively challenging the Home Office’s draconian and surveillance-intensive policies.

We hope you will be able to join us.

Event timings:

6pm - Drinks reception in the First Floor Galleries

6.15pm - Welcome speech

6.30pm - Film screening of H is for Hostile Environment

The film will be shown on repeat from 6.30pm onwards
