Reward and Recognition

UCL East Engagement Awards

The UCL East Engagement Awards celebrate staff, students, partners and projects that have exemplified mutually beneficial engagement between UCL and our east London communities. We expect nominations to open again in Summer 2026.

Funding

Community Engagement Seed Fund

The UCL East Community Engagement Seed Fund is a small grants funding round for UCL staff and post graduate research students. It is designed to support the development of engagement activities and partnership opportunities with east London communities. We expect to fund six grants of up to £4,000. Closed for 25/26

Community Engagement Development Funding

This is a small grants funding scheme for UCL staff and post graduate research students who have previously received funding for engagement projects in east London. It is designed to build capacity for previously funded projects to deepen the impact of ongoing engagement practice. We expect to fund grants of between £2,000 - £4,000. Accepting applications.

We run networking events with east London Voluntary and Community Sector, and arts and Culture Sector organisations.

Workshops and Training 

 

Skills development for community engagement

We deliver programmes and workshops for UCL staff and students around skills and knowledge for community engagement.

We developed a series of online modules in public and community engagement.

The Creative Engagement Fellowship

An opportunity for 8 PhD students undertaking research in areas relevant to the ESRC or AHRC, and with an interest in creative approaches to community engagement, to join an exciting new training programme. The Creative Engagement Fellowship will support you to develop your engaged research skills and expand your knowledge of the arts and cultural sector.
