About UCL East

Find out more about our outstanding facilities, our teams and how to find us.

UCL East is our pioneering campus at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, with our first two buildings now fully opened - One Pool Street in autumn 2022 and Marshgate in autumn 2023.

In the largest single expansion since UCL was founded nearly 200 years ago, UCL East is joining our Bloomsbury campus, central London, in discovering, co-creating and sharing new knowledge for the benefit of all.

UCL East is a founding partner of East Bank, a new powerhouse for innovation, creativity and learning on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, along with the BBC, Sadler's Wells, the V&A and UAL: London College of Fashion. The development is backed by the Mayor of London as a legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The campus is a direct response to the biggest challenges facing people and the planet. It is designed to accelerate breakthroughs in areas including robotics and AI, ecology, sustainable cities, green manufacturing, decarbonised transport, assistive technology, fair finance, and global health.

Every aspect of research and teaching on the campus sees different disciplines working together in shared laboratories and studios, setting aside traditional university structures and breaking down boundaries between academic disciplines.

The UCL East campus is open to the public to enjoy, with a programme of exhibitions, events and activities for all.
