UCL successfully participated in the international Drug Repurposing Conference (iDR25) in Amsterdam earlier this month, reinforcing the university's commitment to advancing therapeutic innovation through strategic partnerships.

The UCL delegation comprised colleagues from the Translational Research Office, including Dr Jane Kinghorn (Director), Dr Carmel Reilly (Head of Business and Innovation Group), Dr Asha Recino (Research Networks and Partnerships Manager), alongside Prof. Oscar Della Pasqua, Chair of UCL Therapeutic Innovation Networks - Repurposing.

At the conference, Dr Jane Kinghorn delivered a plenary talk on "Drug Repurposing TIN at UCL: The Importance of Training the Next Generation," highlighting UCL's dedication to developing the next cohort of drug repurposing specialists. Meanwhile, Dr Carmel Reilly joined a panel discussion focusing on creating commercial opportunities within the modern repurposing ecosystem.

The two-day event brought together key opinion leaders from research and patient communities, policymakers, funders, regulators and the private sector, creating a collaborative environment for addressing challenges in drug repurposing.

Through this participation, UCL strengthens its ties with the European drug repurposing ecosystem and contributes to a dynamic think tank addressing repurposing challenges to collectively accelerate patient impact.
