UCL hosts internal and external experts to exchange knowledge on In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices

Over 30 highly engaged researchers and experts in In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices gathered to explore the subject at a workshop hosted by UCL. The event provided an opportunity for collaboration and to drive progress in the development of IVDs and novel therapeutics.

Over 30 highly engaged researchers and experts in In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices (IVD) gathered to delve into the subject at the workshop hosted by UCL on 28 November 2024. Discussions ranged from identifying what qualifies as an IVD and their risk classifications under EU regulations, to structuring a medical device technical file and understanding the translational pathways for IVD development.

As IVDs are essential tools in healthcare, providing crucial information about health and disease, the workshop enabled UCL researchers to collaborate and drive progress in developing IVDs and novel therapeutics.

This workshop was co-organised by the Therapeutic Innovation Networks (TINs) – Devices and Diagnostics, and the UCL Institute of Healthcare Engineering.
