Gordon Street cycle parking closure and alternatives

29 November 2017

22 Gordon Street bike racks

Construction and around the New Students Centre and Bloomsbury Theatre has caused the closure of some bike parking, but alternatives have been made available.

The cycle parking spaces outside the Bloomsbury Theatre on Gordon Street will be closed from 4th December until autumn 2018 due to construction work on the new Bloomsbury Theatre and New Student Centre. We are aware that cycle parking is in high demand and apologise for any inconvenience.

We do have a new bicycle parking facility for staff and students close to Taviton Street. Delivered as part of the new 22 Gordon Street building, with lots of available bicycle parking spaces in this secure, covered, off road location, it does offer a more secure option than street parking. Any UCL staff member or student can apply for one of these spaces (subject to availability) by calling into the UCL Security Office in the Andrew Huxley Building.

Alternative facilities are available around the campus and we continue to provide bicycle parking wherever we can: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/cycling.

The New Student Centre and Bloomsbury Theatre are major projects in our Transforming UCL programme. The construction and fit-out of the New Student Centre will complete by the end of next year (2018) and we will shortly be providing further detail about the Bloomsbury Theatre transformation which will provide an exciting, high specification space for our student and staff community and London audiences. It will also become a catalyst for new theatrical work linking research and creative industries.
