This online event provides an opportunity to improve understanding in increasing the likelihood of success in drug repurposing. Encouraging a multi-disciplinary approach integrating pharmacological, pharmaceutical and clinical expertise at early clinical drug development, aspects related to safety and efficacy considerations for drug reformulation will be discussed and illustrated by a specific case study.

Speakers:

  • Dr Asha Recino (TIN Coordinator) - Repurposing TIN Introduction
  • Prof. Oscar Della Pasqua (Repurposing TIN Chair) - Current Landscape and Challenges in Drug Repurposing
  • Dr Mine Orlu and Dr Robert Pitceathly (invited speakers) - Mind the Gap: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Drug Repurposing
  • Q&A: 15mins

Basic and translational researchers from across UCL are encouraged to attend. The Repurposing TIN aims to reach out to researchers at all career stages currently involved/or planning to work in the Drug Repurposing space and interested in what research questions to ask when repositioning drugs that are already on the market.

We'd also like to invite existing and potential industry partners to attend, as we highlight a case study of Repurposing at UCL, providing insights into the work of the TINs and an example of the types of projects looking for collaborators to accelerate translation.
