POSTPONED - Due to the current Coronavirus crisis, unfortunately we have had to postpone this event. We hope to rearrange for the Autumn term (September/October time).
The Therapeutic Innovation Networks (TINs) aim to enhance the translation of basic research at UCL by creating a community of investigators around specific therapeutic modalities. At this event, the Department of Biochemical Engineering will present resources and strategies to help you manufacture your Biologic therapeutic target.
Agenda:
9.30 am: Registration and coffee
10 am: Welcome to TIN event (Professor Paul Dalby)
10.15 am: Overview of the Department of Biochemical Engineering (Professor Gary Lye)
10.30 am: Introduction to the Future Vaccine Manufacturing Research Hub (Professor Martina Micheletti)
11 am: Introduction to the Future Targeted Healthcare Manufacturing Hub (Professor Paul Dalby)
11.30 am: Highlighting the Pilot Plant at the Advanced Centre for Biochemical Engineering (Professor Lourdes Velez Suberbie)
12-1 pm: Biologics case study presentations - how the UCL Department of Biochemical Engineering can help you to translate your idea
1 pm: Lunch break
1.45 pm: (Optional) - Tour of the Advanced Centre for Biochemical Engineering (Dr Mike Sulu). Please enquire at registration if you are interested.
2.15 pm: Biologics pilot data scheme panel review -The Biologics TIN is now inviting applications for £5-20k translational projects of duration up to 6 months (from a £50K available pot within the Wellcome Trust pilot data scheme fund).
The award is intended to accelerate the transition from discovery research to translational development.
If you would like to apply, please download and complete an application form here and contact Dr Laurent Dupays (l.dupays.ucl.ac.uk) if you have any questions.
4.30 pm: Finish
UCL researchers at any career stage interested in learning how to translate biologics research projects to the clinic, or simply to learn more about the translational pathway for biologics therapeutics, are encouraged to attend.
