PEP2: Curriculum Review launched in January 2025 and is being delivered as a two-stage process, which will run until August 2025.

Part B of the PEP2 process (April 2025 – August 2025) will enable Programme Leaders and teams to review and make changes to their courses for 2027 entry through a structured and centrally supported curriculum quality enhancement process. The PEP2 process is underpinned by our new Curriculum Design Principles, approved by Education Committee in January 2025.

PEP2B Programme Leader Guide

The guide is for department Programme Leaders. It provides an overview of the PEP2B process and the steps departmental education teams will be asked to follow to review their courses. It includes information about the Curriculum Blueprint and a link to the Self-Evaluation Questionnaire template. It also lists actions that Programme Leaders should now take to prepare for PEP2B.

Conversation Papers

The Conversation Papers are a collection of papers that have been compiled by colleagues involved in key areas of learning, teaching and student experience. These papers offer up a range of views relating to curriculum design and delivery. They aim to encourage further discussions among colleagues working in the context of PEP and engaging with the Curriculum Design Principles.

Further support for departments and faculties

The PEP SharePoint has been updated with more information about the Curriculum Review process including key resources to support faculties and departments that are currently looking at local review activities. We have worked in collaboration with HEDS to produce further material that will support colleagues with their review activities. These will be available on the PEP SharePoint at the end of March.

Next steps

When PEP2B formally commences on 14 April 2025, another round of detailed, step-by-step guidance will be circulated to steer colleagues through each element of the curriculum review process. Auto-populated Curriculum Blueprints capturing existing course data will also be circulated at this stage.

In advance of the formal launch, we encourage all Programme Leaders and teams to review the guide for support on preparing for review activity.
