How you can help engage students in Extended Learning Opportunities

19 March 2025

Resources are available to promote a range of hands-on learning opportunities happening in Term 3.

Text that reads ‘ExtendED Learning’, with four coloured arrows.

ExtendED Learning is a collaboration between UCL and Students’ Union UCL, which offers taught students a wide range of free learning opportunities in Term 3. Our 2025 pilot programme is now opening for bookings, following positive feedback from students in 2024.

The programme has been carefully designed to ensure students are building skills and competencies that will support them in their futures, whatever their subject or next steps. Students can choose something that interests them, from one-off workshops and conferences, to in-depth consultancy challenges and innovation labs. Various dates, time commitments and modes are available, and students can pick as many opportunities as they like.

There are four learning strands to choose from:

  • Innovate and Create

  • Connect with Communities

  • Debate the Future

  • Supercharge Your Career.

This year all students taking part will be offered access to a new skills mapping platform to enable them to get the most from their learning and demonstrate their personal development.

How you can help

Booking is now open for activities taking place from 30 April to 13 June. With your support, more students will be able to benefit from the programme.

Please tell your students about the opportunities they can access through ExtendED Learning.

You can use this pack of digital resources (UCL login required) to support local promotion to your students. The shared folder includes key messaging about the programme, a PowerPoint slide, social media graphics and digital screen images.

Thank you for your help. If you have a question, please contact Sally Mackenzie, Associate Director (Education and Student Experience).
