About the Speaker
Frances Tunks
Inclusive Education Specialist at University College London
Frances Tunks is a neurodivergent inclusive education specialist with expertise in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), dyslexia, and disability advocacy. She contributes to national and international projects aimed at advancing equitable education policy and practice.
With a background in education and qualifications as both a Specialist Teacher and Early Years Educator, Frances takes a research-informed approach to designing and evaluating interventions for children and young people with protected characteristics. Her work critically examines how factors such as socioeconomic status and housing, impact access to education and learner outcomes.
As a disabled mother of two children with diverse needs, Frances brings a powerful combination of lived experience and academic insight to her work. She is committed to challenging systemic barriers and offers practical, evidence-based strategies for creating inclusive, accessible learning environments and fostering disability-positive cultures.
