It will provide you with a clear understanding of your responsibilities and equip you with practical tools to navigate real-world scenarios. You will explore effective strategies to communicate constructively with academic teams, enhance fairness and transparency in your assessment decisions, and reflect on how to continuously improve your approach. Through interactive discussions and activities, you will leave with valuable insights to strengthen your practice and make a meaningful impact in the role. 

In this workshop, we will:
• Understand the role of the external examiner
• Explore real-life scenarios
• Identify challenges of the role
• Address limitations of the resources and assessment criteria

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
• articulate the key responsibilities of external examiners
• apply key principles and practices to practical situations
• employ strategies to foster constructive communication with academic teams
• reflect on and enhance their own practices to improve fairness and transparency in their external examination process
