The session will be interactive, hands-on, and model the use of the IDEAs activities. Participants will be invited to provide feedback on how they might use the resources. We invite participants to bring to the session a 'teaching dilemma/challenge' they are facing or expecting to experience in relation to their practice (e.g. to enhance participation; to support students' independence; to provide effective feedback for formative assessment; to improve class interaction; etc.).

During the session, we will explore opportunities to tackle the challenge by using IDEAs and participants will design and test activities that they can carry out with their students. The resources are equally student and staff facing, flexible, and grouped by pedagogical aim (such as assessment literacy, collaboration, reflection and revision etc.). Each of them includes a rationale and instructions for use. All resources are available on a dedicated blog, where we invite staff to contribute, share examples and experiences.

This workshop will:

  • An overview of resources available
  • Working with peers to explore how the resources might be helpful in planning a teaching activity or resolving a challenge participants are facing in your teaching
  • How participants can contribute to the blog and reflect on their experience

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Identify new digital engagement activities for your teaching
  • Reflect on how new activities can help resolve any challenges you might be facing in your teaching
  • Recognise how you can contribute to a collaborative resource to help other who teach.
