Generative AI: developing your teaching and learning practice [online] 26 May

26 May 2025, 2:00 pm–4:00 pm

student working at a laptop

This workshop is designed for staff members who have read up on or experimented with generative AI already, and would like an opportunity to get further ideas for their practice. It assumes knowledge of what GenAI is, how it works, and common uses of the technology. Staff who are interested but not confident that they have that knowledge might book onto the 'Generative AI: the bare essentials for teaching and learning' workshop first. The session covers: designing assessments which incorporate or respond to GenAI, applications of GenAI in academic and professional services roles, and applications of GenAI for students to enhance learning. There will be time dedicated to small group discussions of how you have used GenAI already, as well as plenary questions and feedback. Staff who have previously attended the workshop 'Generative AI, Academic Integrity and Assessments' are welcome to book onto this workshop. They should note that similar material is covered in greater depth, but this workshop does not address more fundamental knowledge about the nature of GenAI.

This event is free.
