GenAI and academic integrity [online] 3 December
03 December 2025, 3:00 pm–4:00 pm
Please note: we run several different training sessions on generative AI. Some sessions build on information from others, while other sessions are designed for particular staff groups rather than a general audience. We have suggested pathways and topics to help choose the right session for you. A GenAI Training SharePoint (link below) is available to help support your development with GenAI.
This event is free.

This session unpacks UCL’s academic integrity policy and how it relates to GenAI. We’ll review the Three Categories – their nature and purpose, as well as how to use them with your own assessments. We’ll also take a realistic look at the prospects for detecting and monitoring GenAI misuse.
This webinar aims to:
- Illuminate the murky and confusing notions of appropriate, assistive and ethical GenAI use in assessments.
- Solidify understanding of how and when to use each of UCL's Three Categories of GenAI use in assessment.
- Explore why GenAI detection is unreliable, and which preventative methods offer the best chance of promoting academic integrity amongst academics.
