Beth Hallissey Uni of Portsmouth. Artificial Intelligence has emerged as a powerful tool for creating engaging and educationally valuable visual content. This session is designed for those interested in exploring AI-generated imagery to enhance student learning and innovate instructional design. We will explore various AI image-generation tools, evaluating their strengths and limitations for educational applications. Beth will particularly focus on her own experience of using these images in training Dental students, giving practical insights into creating procedure illustrations, patient education materials, and the future of potentially utilising this technology for AI avatars as virtual patients. We will also look at improving prompt writing for image generators to craft precise, unbiased, and impactful AI images. Beth will also highlight ethical considerations and adherence to UK copyright law and intellectual property standards. Participants will have the opportunity to create and share their AI-generated images via Padlet as a virtual art gallery.
