The 90 min workshop for teaching and teaching support staff will explore common challenges and opportunities in relation to work with diverse and multicultural cohorts.
The session will focus on class communication and scenario-based activities to trigger a reflection on different approaches and strategies we can use to create and foster an inclusive and supportive environment for students and colleagues coming from different backgrounds. We will discuss how to set and manage expectations and develop a common framework for interaction.
Participants will be invited to contribute by sharing their experiences and examples of practice. The session is ideally suited for returning participants who attended part 1, but also open to new colleagues.
This workshop will:
- Enhance your understanding of the needs of diverse cohorts
- Develop strategies to work with different groups of students
- Reflect on your approach to inclusive teaching
- Reflect on opportunities to internationalise the curriculum
After attending this session you will:
- Critically reflect on their professional practice in terms of inclusivity and diversifying approaches
- Use different strategies to involve and engage diverse students’ cohorts.
