Session aims

  • To offer a structure to help cohere thinking around what sorts of teaching, learning and assessment ‘blends’ colleagues might employ as we continue to navigate our way through disrupted times ·
  • To provide a forum to discuss some principles, controversies and issues related to ‘blended by design’ thinking ·
  • On the basis that ‘there’s never a good time’ and ‘we’re always too busy’: To offer an opportunity to pause and reflect on teaching, learning and assessment experiences and apply ideas to each person’s specific context and discipline

Overview of session

This session is designed to mirror one blended approach to teaching design and its effectiveness will be evaluated in-session.

In the session colleagues will be invited to discuss principles and resources related to ‘blended by design’ thinking, to use those principles as a lens on teaching experiences and to challenge, reflect  on and apply this thinking to forthcoming sessions, modules and/ or programmes.
