Collaborative approaches to learning: A mini symposium (Hybrid session)
15 November 2021, 1:00 pm–3:00 pm

At this event we will explore a variety of collaborative approaches to learning (for example team-based learning, problem-based learning and peer instruction) with a view to embedding such approaches more widely across the institution. These approaches can be successful in both online and face-to-face settings.
This event is free.

Colleagues from Medical Sciences, Engineering, the Institute of Education and the Arena Centre will share some of their successful approaches and we will discuss together how other colleagues might want to take them forward in their own contexts. There will be an update on work already begun to disseminate ideas and resources, and a chance to consider the advantages and possible challenges of the different approaches.
The session will cover the following:
- Short presentations of best practice
- Development of a central repository for shared resources
- Ways forward for colleagues wishing to bring collaborative approaches into their teaching
- Networking and discussion of next steps
Who should attend:
Colleagues who teach or support learning and are interested in embedding collaborative approaches to learning in their own practice, or who would simply like to find out more!
This event will be delivered in person (UCL Arena Room (10th floor, 1-19 Torrington Place)) and online (Zoom)
