Tuesday 24 November 14:00 - 15:30

UCL Arena Centre and UCL Digital Education are delivering this session, which is open to all UCL staff who teach.

The online space can provide a flexible learning environment, without space and time constraints. Learning takes place also beyond the virtual classroom. In order to make sure students are motivated and engaged, asynchronous learning activities have to be carefully designed.

This 90-minute session provides practical guidance on designing and sequencing asynchronous learning activities:

  1. We will first look into how to structure an online course and how to plan and sequence a variety of activity types.
  2. Then we will zoom into the actual activity design process and discuss how to create different individual and group learning activities, how to communicate them clearly to students and how to embed them into the overall course, as a part of the learning path(s).

This session gives you the opportunity to revisit your course from a different perspective and design an engaging and flexible learning experience for your students.
