UCL Arena Centre are delivering this introductory session to evaluation, which is open to all staff at UCL who teach students.
This session provides new methods for evaluating your teaching during term time, rather than only at the end.
You will explore the advantages of these methods, which will allow you to respond to the students' voice, whilst they can still benefit from the changes.
This workshop will:
- provide you with methods for evaluating your teaching during term time
- offer alternative methods to traditional methods, such as questionnaires
- explore what should and should not be evaluated, and;
- highlight how you can act on the student voice to implement change at an early stage
This workshop will not:
- explore in depth the value of evaluation as a concept
- cover in depth the creation and use of questionnaires
- cover all possible methods of evaluation, but highlight some key methods
After attending this session you will
- understand when and what to evaluate and interplay these two
- use a range of methods to evaluate aspects of your practice
- be able to act on the student choice
Who should attend
You should attend if you are new to teaching or have relied mainly on questionnaires distributed at the end of the module.
Postgraduate Teaching Assistants and all early career educators will find this session particularly useful.
