Dr Irma Meijerman from Utrecht University, the Netherlands, is delivering this session which is open to all staff at UCL.

UCL aims to ensure that all students are able to learn through participating in research and enquiry at all levels of their study. But how can you incorporate research-and inquiry-based teaching in your courses?

This inspiration session will showcase a fully research-based UG programme in pharmaceutical sciences.

You will hear about innovative approaches to teaching, assessment and feedback and discuss how to apply this to your own teaching. 

This workshop will:

  • present UCL's conceptual framework for research-based Education, the Connected Curriculum
  • share methods to enable you to develop and implement a research-based curriculum or programme and;
  • showcase examples of teaching methods, assessment and feedback in research-based curriculum 

After attending this session you will

  • understand methods to develop your teaching, research and assessment 
  • be inspired to improve education and your own teaching

About the Speaker

Dr Irma Meijerman

Teaching Fellow at Utrecht University

Irma Meijerman is a scholarly teacher and inspiring leader in the area of curriculum and course development, honours teaching, faculty development, and Research- and Inquiry Based learning. Educational consultant and staff trainer, in particular in the area of Senior Qualification in Teaching, Course development and Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.

She is also an experienced toxicologist and researcher in the area of cell- and molecular biology, pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenetics, and oncolytic drugs.
