ELEP Teaching and Learning Framework
View ELEP’s framework for teaching difficult and sensitive topics in higher education. Access complementary resources to support the principles and strategies of the framework.
Welcome to our Teaching and Learning Framework, designed to support educators in higher education who seek guidance on teaching difficult and/or sensitive topics. This framework, developed from the findings of UCL’s Eugenics Legacy Education Project (ELEP), offers a structured approach to curriculum design, teaching methods, and assessment practices.
As recommended in the eugenics response group’s final report, we have created guidance to facilitate teaching about eugenics, but this advisory document is also applicable to a wide range of topics. The three-part framework outlines core educational concepts to promote a learning-focused approach to teaching.
