2 year postdoctoral fellow to work with Liz Fullam at Warwick

10 March 2016

The post is funded by the Wellcome Trust and is an exciting opportunity for a protein biochemist to join Dr Elizabeth Fullam's team at Warwick. We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to undertake the purification, biochemical characterisation and structural analysis of an essential enzyme involved in nutrient metabolism in Mycobacterium tuberculosis - the causative agent of tuberculosis.

Applicants should possess, or expect to shortly obtain, a PhD in biochemistry, structural biology or other closely related field. You will have expertise in protein purification and characterisation, as well as experience in molecular biology techniques for protein engineering. Expertise in protein X-ray crystallography would be desirable.

If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD thesis, any offer of employment made to you will be an under-appointment to the post of Research Assistant at Level 5 in the University's grade structure and with a salary of £28,143. Once your PhD has been awarded and we have evidence of this from you, you will be appointed to the substantive post of Research Fellow at Level 6 and with a salary within the range stated above.
