How can the global response to disease outbreaks be improved?
The Ebola epidemic has demonstrated the need for better models of collaboration between the public and private sectors to improve the preparedness and response to deadly infectious disease outbreaks.
In October, leading public health experts, policy-makers and representatives from industry will gather at the Chatham House Pandemics and Epidemics conference, to address how effective multi-sector partnerships can be fostered to achieve key global health goals.
Expert speakers include:
• Dr Luciana Borio, Acting Chief Scientist, US Food and Drug Administration
• Dr Bernice Dahn, Minister of Health, Liberia
• David Evans, Senior Economist, Africa Region, World Bank
• Dr Keiji Fukuda, Assistant Director-General for Health Security, World Health Organization
• Dr Joanne Liu, International President, Médecins Sans Frontières
