Earn rewards for sustainable choices on campus with Reewild’s new PlanetPoints loyalty programme

Download Reewild, earn points for every food purchase on campus, and unlock vouchers from the likes of Uber and Forest, and even Champions League tickets! The greener your purchase, the more you win!
Powered by Reewild, in collaboration with the Institute of Behaviour Change and Mastercard, Planet Points makes it easier (and more rewarding!) to make sustainable choices. Inspired by frequent flyer programs, this innovative system lets you earn points for buying low-carbon food and products -- which you can redeem for rewards like free coffees, discounts, and more!
Last year, UCL became the first university in the world to pilot a food carbon tracking app for students with the launch of our partnership with Reewild, helping students to manage their carbon impact. The carbon impacts are calculated by Food at UCL using the Foodsteps platform which uses the Poore & Nemecek (2018) database, and customers can only collect points for every pound spent on products designated Very Low (3 points) Low Carbon (2 points) or Medium Carbon (1 point). No points are available for products rated High or Very High Carbon.
In line with the university’s Sustainable Food Policy, over half of the food on offer at UCL through caterers CH&CO is vegetarian or vegan. Furthermore, all food made in-house has been carbon accounted and carbon labelled, providing staff and students with the information needed to make informed decisions.
The Reewild app adds an extra gear to this positive work, nudging students towards more sustainable options via a loyalty scheme that rewards them with free meals and coffees if they opt for plant-based options.
Through the app, students can also discover the climate impact of millions of products, enabling them to log the items they consume in their personal carbon footprint tracker, similar to successful calorie counting apps such as MyFitness Pal. Points can then be redeemed with Human Forest and Uber Eats whilst all users of the system will be automatically enrolled into a free Street Slice pizza lottery & UEFA championship ticket loyalty.
You can sign up to the loyalty scheme through the ReeWild app, and add the loyalty card to your digital wallet for ease of use.
