Financial support for undergraduates

The UCL Undergraduate Bursary is one of a wide range of schemes offering financial support for tuition fees, accommodation and living costs for those UCL students with the greatest financial need.

The UCL Undergraduate Bursary scheme is assessed on the basis of household income. To be eligible for the scheme students will have to be domiciled in the UK, and have a household income of less than £42,875.

“To help ensure students from lower-income households can benefit from a UCL education, the university offers bursaries to all eligible students,” explains Kevin King, Head of Student Funding.

The value of the bursary is banded, with students from the lowest income households receiving £3,350 in the academic year 2020–21. The Bursary is given in each year of undergraduate study and may change depending on household income.

Students do not need to apply directly; their eligibility is based on the information they provide to their regional funding authority during the university funding application process.
