Mr Darren Chester

Mr. Chester is a consultant plastic and reconstructive surgeon based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. He has been in post since 2007.
Mr. Chester trained in plastic surgery in the West Midlands and has undertaken a specialist hand fellowship in Derby. He was awarded the MacGregor Medal for achieving distinction in the FRCS(plast.) examination. His main area of expertise and interests lie in the reconstruction of military injuries, particularly upper limb reconstruction. He is clinical lead for the department of hand surgery and lead trainer for registrars at QEHB. He has lectured on the reconstruction of military injuries at numerous national meetings. His current research interests include patterns and outcomes of upper limb war injuries.
