Agostino Stilli

I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Medical and Soft Robotics in the Department of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering, Co-Investigator in the Surgical Robot Vision, Rosetrees Enterprise Fellow and a member of the UCL Robotics Institute.

I am responsible for the delivery of the lectures of the UCL Computer Science module COMP0127 – Robotic Systems Engineering for the MSc in Robotics and Computation and for the MRes in Robotics.

In my research I investigate novel soft robotic technologies to enhance robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgery and medical imaging. I am generally interested in soft robotics and its application in surgical, industrial and rehabilitation robotics, with particular focus on safe human-robot interaction.

During my research activity I have worked as Research Assistant in several projects funded by the European Commission, such as the FP7 SQUIRREL, the FP7 STIFF-FLOP and the H2020 FourByThree projects.

I received my PhD in Robotics from King’s College London in 2017. I also hold a MScEng in Electrical and Automation Engineering and a BSE in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florence in Italy which I received in 2010 and 2013 respectively.
