Congratulations to Daniyal Jafree

10 August 2016

This month Divisional iBSC student (Surgical Sciences), Daniyal Jafree was awarded the Gurdon, The Company of Biologists Summer Studentship, by the British Society of Developmental Biology, with a value of £1,440, to undertake a summer project in developmental biology (for more information, please visit http://bsdb.org/awards/gurdon-studentships-for-summer-vacation-work/). Daniyal will be working in the Developmental Biology of Birth Defects section at UCL Institute of Child Health, examining molecular mechanisms of 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (22qDS). Specifically, he will be screening for characterising craniofacial dysmorphogenesis in mouse embryos, expanding on the work of his host laboratory to elucidate a potential role of the CXCR4-CXCL12 pathway in mouse models of 22qDS.
