Study Abroad Events
The Study Abroad Team hold a number of Study Abroad Events across the academic year. Full details about our key events can be found below.
- Study Abroad Information Sessions
Have you considered spending a year abroad as part of your UCL degree? Are you keen to meet new people, be exposed to a different academic environment and live overseas? The Study Abroad Info Session will provide you with all of the practical information that you need to join the Study Abroad Programme.
We will be providing you with important information on how to apply for your 2019/20 placement, including upcoming deadlines.
You will have the chance to ask the Study Abroad Team questions and hear from our fantastic Global Ambassadors, sharing their first-hand experience of studying abroad!
With over 600 UCL students studying abroad each year at our 260+ exchange institutions, where will Study Abroad take you?
This session is aimed at first and second year undergraduates who are interested in studying abroad as part of their UCL degree.
Our Info Sessions were held in October 2018. If you weren't able to attend in person, you can catch up on the Powerpoint Presentation here.
- Study Abroad Fair
UCL's annual Study Abroad Fair is aimed at all undergraduate students who are taking part in, or are considering taking part in, the study abroad programme at UCL.
Although the information is primarily aimed at students on non-language degrees, students from SELCS, SSEES, BASc and ESPS are welcome to attend!
Attending the fair is a chance to:
- View information about UCL's partner universities
- Speak to UCL students who have recently returned from a period of study abroad about their experiences
- Meet exchange students from our partner institutions who are currently studying at UCL
- Find out more about the Erasmus programme and talk to other students who have taken part in the programme
- Talk to representatives from UCL services and external companies who work to support study abroad students
- Find out more about short-mobility opportunities, taking place during vacation time
The 2018 Study Abroad Fair will take place on Monday 15 October between 4 -6pm in the Cloisters, Wilkins Building, Main Campus.
You don't need to sign-up to attend the Fair; just pop along at any time during 4-6pm and we look forward to seeing you there!
- Preparation Events
As part of our ongoing support for students prior to and during their period of study abroad, we offer a programme of events in the Spring which help students to think about and prepare for some of the practical challenges a year abroad can bring.
Pre-departure Preparation Programme
Detials of the pre-departure programme will be listed under the 'Preparing to go abroad' section of the website.
- Returning Student Events
Your Global Career
We know that for many of you your time abroad will have been an important learning curve, providing experiences which may shape your future. In order to help you do this, we have put together a special session specifically for Study Abroad students which aims to show you how you can formalise these experiences to enrich your CV and interview responses.
This event is held annually in late October. Details of the session will be sent round to eligible students in September 2018.
