Resources for Neurodivergent Students
Neurodivergent or neurodivergence is often shortened to ND. At UCL, ND usually means specific learning differences (for example, dyslexia and dyspraxia), ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and autism.
Introduction
We, specialist tutors, work with students who are neurodivergent and those who have specific learning differences. We are highly specialised, qualified professionals. Alongside one-to-one support sessions (often funded by Disabled Students’ Allowance), we also create and deliver workshops. The workshops are for any student who identifies as neurodivergent, whether you have a formal diagnosis or not. They are aimed at students across UCL, from undergraduates to doctoral researchers and everyone in between!
The workshops are run online using Teams and last up to an hour.
If you are a doctoral researcher, we have a peer support group (the ND PhDs, a Microsoft Teams team) where you can meet with fellow ND PhD students. Regular meetings built around a theme are held, such as managing supervisors, time planning when you’ve no classes to attend and your deadline is years away and more. There is plenty of space to use the different channels to help support your studies and fellow ND PhDs, too. Please complete this short form to request to join the ND PhDs Teams team.
