Closure periods 2026 - support and services
Between Terms 2 and 3, UCL will be closed from 5:30pm on Wednesday 1 April 2026 to 9:00am on Wednesday 8 April 2026. You still have access to plenty of support during this period.
Spring Break Student Support
Please note that Student Support and Wellbeing Services will have a reduced level of service over the break: if you require urgent assistance during this time, please refer to the urgent out of hours support below.

UCL halls
If you are staying in UCL halls over the closure period, you will have access to the same support as usual from your team of Student Residence Advisers (SRAs). Someone from the team will be available throughout this time if you need assistance.
In an emergency, contact the UCL Security Control Room on +44 (0)20 7679 3333 or UCL ext 33333 on an internal phone.
Alternatively, you can use the SafeZone app (press the blue button for Security). Security are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
For hall events and activities, keep an eye out for posters in your hall, speak to your SRAs or visit the Flourish calendar.
Library services
The Student Centre will remain open 24/7 throughout the break. You can continue to access a wide range of online resources 24/7, and view the Library opening hours.

TeamUCL Gym
TeamUCL Gym is UCL's on-campus gym. Visit their website for up-to-date opening hours.
Join in with low-cost Project Active sessions running through Students' Union
Security
Security officers will continue to be present on campus 24 hours a day throughout the closure period. Please speak to them for any security-related issues.
Food and Drink
During the break, some food and drink outlets will be open on campus, for reduced hours. Find information on Students' Union UCL spaces, including their opening hours and menus.
UCL East
Marshgate and One Pool Street will be open at UCL East during the break, but there will be reduced services running.
GP Support
GP surgeries may be operating in different hours over the closure period. Please check with your local surgery if you are unsure.
Other support and services
Counselling Services will be closed during the break.
If you already have appointments scheduled with the service during this period, please attend as scheduled. Find out more about Counselling Services.
If you are a student currently studying abroad, and you require emergency assistance, please contact your travel insurance provider on the emergency number +44 (0)1273 456 463.
If you will be staying in your placement over all or part of the closure period, don’t forget that you can contact the UCL 24/7 Support Line on 00 353 1 518 0277 from outside the UK to talk to someone about how you are feeling. The service, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, also provides independent, impartial support and guidance on a wide variety of legal, financial and personal matters.
Staff in the Student Support and Enquiries team will continue to respond to enquiries submitted through askUCL during the break. Please note, however, that this will be at reduced capacity, so it may take slightly longer than usual to receive a reply.
The UCL Chaplain and Interfaith Adviser, Rev Reid Humble will not be available throughout the break. If you would like to speak to him about any issues surrounding faith or religious belief, you are encouraged to make contact before the closure period begins to make arrangements.

You’ll have access to live and on-demand classes from our Digital Gym and wellbeing series, which offer a variety of classes, from yoga to morning HIIT workouts, and meditation to combat fitness.
