UCL accommodation provides a comfortable space and lively community for you to call home.
Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate students are eligible for a prioritised place in UCL Accommodation if they meet all the following:
- are a first year, full time student
- apply for a single room
- have not previously lived or studied at a Higher Education Institution in Greater London (inside the M25 Motorway)
- list UCL as their firm choice by 10 June in their year of study
- submit their UCL Accommodation application (separate to application to study) by 10 June in their year of study
In addition, we guarantee students who are care leavers a place in halls for the duration of their degree course.

UCL catered accommodation
Catered accommodation includes weekday breakfast and dinner, weekend brunch, and access to a small kitchen, available in UCL and several Intercollegiate Halls for all University of London students.
UCL self-catered accommodation
Self-catered accommodation provides shared kitchen facilities where you prepare your own meals. Flats are equipped with a cooker, refrigerator, freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave.
Our accommodation fees
UCL Accommodation fees include room rental and the following:
- Use of communal areas
- Maintenance within your hall
- Cleaning of shared bathrooms, kitchens and communal areas
- Utility charges, including Wi-Fi
- Basic contents insurance
- 24/7 support
All UCL accommodation is offered for 39 weeks and is located in central London, Zones 1 or 2 of London’s public transport network.
Each of our sites has experienced and knowledgeable Hall Managers, Hall Teams and Student Residence Advisers (SRAs) available to help you throughout your time in UCL accommodation. Their responsibilities range from well-being and community building to out-of-hours support to ensure you have an exceptional student experience.
