Contact between parents and UCL
Information for parents about when we might contact you and what to do if you have concerns about a current student.
When does UCL contact parents
UCL, like all other universities in the UK, will generally communicate directly with the student.
On certain occasions, it may be necessary for us to share information with a trusted contact. This will only happen without the student’s explicit consent if it is in their best and/or vital interest to do so. Review our Trusted Contact Policy for further information on how to update contact details.
Emergency situations
In an emergency:
a) use the SafeZone app to contact the security switchboard. The alarm can be raised without speaking. (SafeZone works on the Bloomsbury and UCL East Campuses).
b) call +44 (0)20 7679 2222
